FTE’s Head of ATC and RPAS Training, Miguel Caparrós, participated in a conference related to RPAS (Drones) and Air Traffic Controllers at the World ATM 2016 congress in Madrid.
The World ATM Congress, organised by CANSO, the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation, and ATCA, the Air Traffic Control Association, is the largest international exhibition and industry forum of its kind. A global mix of Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), Air Traffic Management (ATM) experts, and leading product developers and service providers converge in Madrid once a year to discuss innovation and education in the Air Traffic Management sector.
During his speech, Caparrós talked about the future requirements for Air Traffic Controllers in the use of RPAS and how the rapidly-growing Drones industry and its civil applications will become a thriving business segment in the aviation industry. All these topics were addressed to an audience, composed mostly by delegates from leading international ANSP’s, specialised press and representatives of aviation authorities.
