In February 2016, FTEJerez announced that the academy had been selected by easyJet to provide top-end pilot graduates to be the future First Officers and Captains of the airline. Since the first round of pilot selection, which took place at the FTEJerez Campus in March 2016, nearly 70 cadets have been placed with the orange carrier in less than 2 years, with 49 self-sponsored cadets having been selected in 2017 alone.
EasyJet’s selection team visits the FTEJerez campus periodically to assess and interview self-sponsored cadets who are about to complete their training at FTEJerez. Thanks to this arrangement, at the recent graduation ceremony of FTE’s courses 164 and 165 at the Gonzalez Byass winery in October, the majority of the graduating cadets were already selected by easyJet and ready to soon commence their type and line training. Captain David Morgan, Head of Flight Operations at easyJet, was the Guest of Honour at said ceremony where he described FTEJerez as ‘one of the best pilot training schools in Europe’ whilst commending the graduates for their achievements.
