FTEJerez has received approval by the Spanish regulator, AESA, to deliver MCC-APS training. In 2009, FTEJerez was the first ATO to introduce the Jet Orientation Course (JOC) to its integrated ATPL training programmes, which complemented the mandatory Multi-Crew Cooperation Course (MCC) assisting cadets to better prepare for a type rating with an airline. The JOC, however, was an unregulated course which lead to different syllabi depending on the standard of the training provider delivering the JOC.

Following requests from Europe’s major airlines, EASA introduced the Airline Pilot Standard (APS) MCC. This measure has allowed to standardise this non-mandatory training module across the industry. With the recent approval, FTEJerez now formalises its MCC-JOC as an MCC-APS, and will continue to deliver the module as part of its Airline First Officer Programme’s syllabus.
